Eduardo Navas
Rear Admiral of the Ecuadorian Navy, with a degree in Naval and Port Sciences and a career as a Naval Officer, with more than four decades of experience in the naval, maritime and port sectors. Throughout his career, he has held various positions of senior responsibility within the Ecuadorian Navy, including General Director of the Merchant Marine and Maritime Affairs (DIGMER), General Director of Maritime Interests (DIGEIM), Commander-in-Chief of the Fleet, Harbour Master of Manta, and Superintendent of the La Libertad Oil Terminals, as well as various other management and leadership positions within the maritime and port sectors. He has extensive experience in maritime and port administration, merchant shipping, naval operations, maritime safety, waterborne transport and maritime interests. He has also participated in maritime and port management modernisation projects, including information systems and maritime traffic control, vessel and seafarer registration, and the automation of Maritime Authority processes. In the public sector, he subsequently served as Director of the Puerto Bolívar District of the National Customs Service of Ecuador and as Undersecretary of Ports and Maritime and River Transport. He also served as Executive Director of the Universidad del Pacífico. He currently serves as Maritime Adviser at Villagrán Lara, contributing his extensive experience and specialised knowledge in maritime, port and navigation matters.
